  • How to Make Cannabutter with ABV Weed

Cannabis is often regarded as a product of divine alchemy, due to its almost limitless number of uses! The seemingly unassuming plant is used in an increasing number of industries, and benefits everyone; from the individual looking to have a good time, and the chef looking to improve their butter with delicious cannabis kick!

Making Cannabutter with ABV "Already-Been-Vaped Weed"

Cannabis can be taken in a variety of ways, including vaporizing. This particular method is especially beneficial since it allows for the ABV weed to be used once again in Cannabis recipes, such as cannabis butter. Following is a recipe which you can use to make your own cannabutter.

    Ingredients:
    • An ounce of ABV cannabis per ounce of butter (1:1 ratio)
    • Cheesecloth
    • Strainer (medium to fine mesh)
    • Slow cooker or crockpot
    • Water

Using a slow cooker will work best for cannabutter. Also, make sure to keep the 1:1 ABV weed/butter ratio, for the ideal strength cannabutter. You can go lower for the weed, but not too low since this can quickly undermine any effects of the cannabis.

    Preparation:
    1. Grind the cannabis to an almost powdery texture. Make sure not to turn it into a fine powder, since this will make the butter full of particles which is not an ideal finished
product. However, if it is already in a powder form, you can still work with it.
    2. Put the butter and the ground weed into the pot, along with enough water to cover both the ingredients.
    3. Thoroughly mix all the ingredients together, taking care to separate the weed in case any clumps form.
    4. Turn the slow cooker to the lowest setting, and leave the mixture to simmer for 24 hours at least. Do not increase the temperature of the pot, since this will result in the butter
    turning brown due to scorching.
    5. Turn the crockpot off after the 24 hour time period and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.
    6. Use the cheesecloth to line the strainer, so that it is slightly looser over the top of the strainer.
    7. Strain the liquid through the cloth and the strainer, into a large pot. Do it slowly, to allow for the mixture to drop down into the bottom container while also filtering.
    8. Once the cooking pot is empty, let the mixture inside the cheesecloth drop, before finally squeezing any leftover liquid out from the cheesecloth.
    9. Once you have all the filtered liquid out in the bottom pan, refrigerate all of it overnight. This will easily separate the butter from the water, while also allowing the butter to
    group together into usable chunks.

Et voila! Your delicious cannabutter is ready to use with whatever recipe you wish. You can use it to spread on bread, or you can use it baking recipes. If using it for the latter purpose, make sure to expose it to direct heat. Instead of laying some on top of the pie or recipe, mix it in. This will prevent the THC from being burnt off. • Legalization of Cannabis in Florida 2017

cannabisThe state of Florida has long contained a large number of marijuana proponents, all vying for legalization. When last year the bill; namely Amendment 2, was passed, it came as a glimmer of hope for Florida residents; a hope for a future when marijuana is not cracked down upon, and recreational as well as medical marijuana will not be heavily regulated.

Expectations were rife, but now it seems that Floridians may not be able to enjoy marijuana as freely as they thought they would. And while the bill does make some allowances, they are neither as expansive, nor as non-restrictive as one may expect.

    A 71 Percent Majority Vote

The announcement of the vote brought about a wave of excitement in the local Floridian community. Many assumed that the will of the people will finally be listened to, and cannabis will be made legal once and for all, within certain limitations of course. This was due to a sudden drive to lobby for legalization in Florida, after states, some smaller than Florida, already enjoyed legal cannabis.

Finally, when the voting results came in, a massive 71 percent voted in favor of legalization. It has to be noted here that Florida plays host to a massive retiree population, most of whom have expressed opposition to the recreational use of cannabis. This can also be deemed as the reason why Amendment 2 did not get passed with an even bigger vote.

    Allowances made in Amendment 2

Amendment 2, within the Florida Constitution, gives allowance to qualified physicians to certify for the medical use of marijuana. These were only for individuals who suffered from potentially debilitating conditions, and those who otherwise required very heavy doses of painkillers and related medication to aid in the treatment of their conditions.

The bill was finally signed on June 23rd, 2017, by the Governor of Florida. Almost instantly, there were proposed regulations being announced, mostly based on the medicinal use of marijuana. Chief among the regulations was the definition of ‘debilitating medical conditions’, equating them to ‘medical conditions’.

Overall, the regulation is being seen as far too strict, and in favor of certain individuals in positions of power who would otherwise benefit, from strictly regulating cannabis usage, whether it is recreational or medical.

General Opinions regarding the Strict Regulation

The general opinion regarding the marijuana regulation is that Florida has played host to the criminal import of marijuana and other hard drugs, as well as operations of cartels. This is being seen as a ploy to maintain the status quo, as well as the profits that certain officials and individuals make from the existence of this status quo.

On the other hand, it is admitted that the legalization in Florida is bound to raise a significant amount in taxes, as well as open up myriad new businesses across the state, providing employment to those seeking it within the industry. Whether or not these proposals are entertained in the future remains to be seen.

    The Stress Problem

While there are certainly some medical exceptions, for most people the root cause of insomnia is stress. And in case you missed that memo, stress isn’t so great for you. In fact, insomnia is just one of the many negative impacts that high stress levels can have on your body.

Learning yoga, eating right, keeping your relationships healthy, and working from home to avoid driving are all ways that you can reduce your stress. The downside is that almost none of those things can happen right away. If you’re operating at a sleep deficit while trying to master the wounded peacock pose, for instance, you could be adding to the stress problem. And more stress means less sleep, and less sleep means more stress. Not to mention that a yoga accident could end you up in the hospital or totally ruin your yogi cred. Vicious cycle? You betcha. Wounded peacock pose really hard? Yup. Still reading? We knew you would be.
